SALT

Ink - Pour salt on an ink stain on your carpet and the salt will soak it up.

Weeds  -  Salt will kill weeds if applied.  Great for the cracks in the sidewalk

Sponges -  Soak sponges in salt water to freshen them.

Mildew  -  Mix salt and lemon juice to remove mildew.

Place a few grains of rice in your salt shaker for easier pouring

Adding a little salt in the vase for cut flowers will make them last longer.

Too many suds?  Add a sprinkle of salt.

Clean your coffee pot to remove discolorations.  Place 1 tablespoon of slat with a few ice cubes and a little water. Swirl until the discolorations  come clean and then rinse.  Always be sure the pot is cool before cleaning.

Put  an egg in salt water to see if it fresh.  Fresh eggs will sink and bad ones will float.

A pinch of salt added to egg whites makes them beat fluffier.

Remove rust from tools by used salt and lemon juice.

Drop an egg on the floor?  Pour salt over the egg, let it sit then use a broom to sweep it up.

Boil clothespins in salt water and they will last longer when used outdoors. 

Sprinkle salt on the cracks in your driveway or sidewalk to kill the grass that grows there.

Remove rust from scissors or other tools by applying a salt and lemon juice paste with a clean dry rag and rub.

Clean silk flowers by pouring approximately a cup of salt into a bag, place the flower into the bag and shake.  This should remove the dust.
